Privacy Policy
Shinefy is an iPhone app by MediaHub Limited (“we”) that helps you free up space and keep your files in order. Your photos, videos, contacts, calendars and files are analyzed on your iPhone and are never uploaded to us. There is no account and no advertising in the app. To understand how the app is used, how subscriptions perform and which of our ads bring people to Shinefy, the app uses the services described below.
Effective date and last update: 10 October 2026
Summary
- We don’t run servers that receive your photos, videos, files, Vault content, contacts or calendars, and we don’t sell personal data.
- Photo and video analysis and text recognition happen on your iPhone. The results stay in the app’s storage on your device.
- Nothing is deleted without your confirmation. The Vault is encrypted on your iPhone with a key that never leaves it.
- The app uses Adapty, AppsFlyer and AppMetrica for analytics, subscriptions and ad measurement. They receive device identifiers, technical and usage data, install, campaign and purchase information — and Apple’s advertising identifier only if you allow tracking. They never receive your photos, videos, files, contacts or calendars.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
What Shinefy accesses and why
Shinefy asks for each permission when you first use a feature that needs it, and asks about tracking once, when you tap Get Started on the first screen. You can change your choices at any time in Settings › Apps › Shinefy.
- Photos. To scan your library for similar photos, duplicates, blurry and dark shots, screenshots, screen recordings, Live Photos, media saved from chat apps, photos of documents and large videos. Shinefy also saves to your library the photos it converts (Live Photos to still photos) and the videos it compresses. Photos and videos are deleted only after you confirm in the iOS system dialog.
- Contacts. To find duplicate and incomplete contacts and to merge or delete the ones you confirm, and to back up your address book as a .vcf file saved in Shinefy’s Backups folder on your iPhone. If your contacts sync with iCloud or another account, the changes apply there too.
- Calendars. To find spam calendar subscriptions and old events and delete the ones you confirm.
- Camera. To scan documents and to take photos directly into the Vault. The images stay on your iPhone.
- Face ID. To unlock the Vault. Face ID is handled by iOS: Shinefy only learns whether unlocking succeeded and never receives your face data.
- Local network. For Wi-Fi Transfer, described below.
- Notifications. For the reminders described below.
- Tracking. Optional. To let the services described below receive Apple’s advertising identifier, which shows us which of our ads led to your install. See “Tracking permission and advertising identifier” below.
Analysis on your iPhone
Shinefy analyzes photos and videos with Apple’s Vision framework on your iPhone. It compares images to find similar shots, measures sharpness and brightness to suggest the best shot and find blurry or dark ones, recognizes text in screenshots, photos of documents and PDFs, and detects the type of a document (for example, a receipt or a ticket).
The results — image fingerprints, quality scores, recognized text and a search index — are stored in the app’s private storage on your iPhone, so the next scan is faster and search works offline. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting Shinefy removes them.
If your library uses iCloud Photos with Optimize iPhone Storage, iOS may download full-size originals from iCloud to your iPhone when Shinefy analyzes, converts or copies them. That transfer happens between your device and Apple.
Files you keep in Shinefy
Files you import, scan or create in Shinefy are stored in the app’s folder on your iPhone, which also appears in the Files app (On My iPhone › Shinefy). Like other app data, these files and the analysis results above may be included in your iCloud Backup or computer backup, depending on your iOS settings.
- When you connect a folder from another app or a cloud service through the Files app, Shinefy accesses only the folder you picked.
- When you copy photos, videos or files to a cloud folder you choose — for example iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive through the Files app — that provider’s app uploads them, and the provider handles them under its own privacy policy. Shinefy doesn’t connect to these services itself, and we don’t receive the files.
Vault
Items in the Vault — photos, videos, documents and notes — are encrypted on your iPhone with AES-GCM. The encryption key is created on your device and kept in the iOS Keychain, available only on this iPhone. Vault content is not synced to any cloud and is excluded from backups. If you delete Shinefy, the encrypted Vault files are deleted with it; if the key is lost (for example, when you erase your iPhone or move to a new one), the content can’t be decrypted. In both cases neither you nor we can recover it.
Wi-Fi Transfer
When you open Wi-Fi Transfer, Shinefy starts a small web server on your local network, available only while that screen is open. The address it shows contains a random code; a computer on the same Wi-Fi network can open it in a browser to download files from Shinefy or upload files into it. Files go directly between your iPhone and that computer and don’t pass through the internet or our servers. The connection uses plain HTTP inside your network, so use Wi-Fi Transfer only on networks you trust and close the screen when you’re done.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Shinefy schedules reminders on your iPhone: a weekly cleanup reminder, which you can turn off in Shinefy’s settings, and a reminder one day before a free trial ends. They are created on the device; no push server is involved.
Home Screen widget
The Shinefy widget shows your iPhone’s total and free storage and how much space can be cleaned. The app shares only these numbers with the widget, through storage on your device (an App Group).
Analytics and subscription services
To understand how Shinefy is used, find crashes, see how subscriptions perform and learn which of our ads bring people to the app, Shinefy uses the following services, which process data on our behalf. None of them receives your photos, videos, files, Vault content, contacts, calendar events or the text found in your images and documents: events about your content carry only counts and sizes, such as how many items a scan found.
- Adapty (subscription management and analytics) receives information about your subscription (product, price, trial, purchase and renewal dates, cancellations and refunds; Apple also reports these to it), which paywall you were shown, a random profile identifier, the identifier for vendors (IDFV), technical data such as device model, iOS version, language, country and IP address and, if you allow tracking, Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA). Through Adapty we also choose which subscription plans the paywall shows, including when we test different versions of it. It receives the AppsFlyer and AppMetrica identifiers and, from AppsFlyer, the campaign that led to the install (ad network, campaign and ad set), so that subscription revenue can be matched with app analytics and with our ads, and it sends purchase and renewal events to AppsFlyer and AppMetrica from its servers. Adapty Privacy Policy.
- AppsFlyer (install attribution) learns which of our ads — for example on Facebook, Instagram or other ad networks — or which link led to the install. It receives an identifier it creates for the app on your device, the IDFV, technical data (device model, iOS version, language, app version and IP address), install and app launch events, the ad click or view that led to the install, subscription purchase and renewal events (sent by Adapty’s servers) and, if you allow tracking, the advertising identifier (IDFA). AppsFlyer Privacy Policy.
- AppMetrica (app analytics, by Yandex) receives an identifier it creates for the app on your device, the IDFV, technical data (device model, iOS version, language, IP address and the approximate location — country and city — determined from it), app launches, crash reports, events such as which screens and features you use and how many items a scan found, purchase events and, if you allow tracking, the advertising identifier (IDFA). Yandex Privacy Policy.
We use this data only to run and improve Shinefy and to measure our advertising and subscriptions. We don’t use it to show you ads, and Shinefy contains none.
Tracking permission and advertising identifier
When you tap Get Started on the first screen, iOS asks once whether Shinefy may track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. If you allow it, Adapty, AppsFlyer and AppMetrica may receive Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA), which helps match your install with the ad you saw. If you don’t, none of them receives it, and nothing else in the app changes. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Whatever you choose, Apple may report an install to the ad network and to AppsFlyer through SKAdNetwork or AdAttributionKit. Apple designed these reports to protect your privacy: they don’t contain the advertising identifier or anything else that identifies you or your device.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment and tells the app whether a subscription is active; we never receive your name, Apple Account or payment details. Purchase and renewal information is also processed by the services listed above. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
This website
shinefy.app uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
Children
Shinefy isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data.
Keeping and deleting data
There is no Shinefy account. Everything the app stores — analysis results, the search index, your files, the Vault, contacts backups and settings — is on your iPhone, and deleting the app removes it. Copies you saved elsewhere, such as files in a cloud folder or in your own backups, stay where you put them. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription.
To ask for the deletion of data that the services above hold about your device, write to hi@roiperfect.com.
Your rights
The data these services receive is linked to device identifiers, not to your name or email address. You can limit it by not allowing tracking. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access or delete your data, to object to its processing or, under laws such as the CCPA, to opt out of its use for cross-context advertising, which not allowing tracking does. To exercise a right or ask a question, contact us and we’ll handle the request together with these services. They keep data according to their policies and our agreements with them, and may process it outside your country.
Changes
If we change how Shinefy handles data, we’ll update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
